It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Zachary Allen Risley, who departed this world peacefully at home on April 5, 2026, at the age of 38. Born on November 5, 1987, in Decatur, Illinois.

Zachary was a beloved son, father, brother, and friend. He is survived by his cherished daughter, Teddie Alleyne Risley, and her mother, Stevi Brinkley. Teddie was the light of his life and will carry his legacy forward with grace and love. He is also survived by his devoted mother, Pamela Harper, and her partner, Greg Clark, who provided unwavering support and love throughout his journey. His siblings, Stacie Word (Jeremy), Austin Andres, Sarah Risley, Jeremy Clark (Stephanie), and Jessica Clark, along with numerous nieces and nephews, will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. Grant, Gage, and Gabbie Word, Roxanne Clark and Avery Smith, along with Deondra, Calvin, and Callie Cook, will continue to feel the warmth of his spirit in their lives.

Zachary was predeceased by his father, Jerry Risley, and his beloved maternal grandparents, Frank and Anita Andres, as well as his paternal grandparents, Bill and Flossie Risley, who have undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.

Throughout his career at AHW Farm Equipment in Monticello, Zachary earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and friends. His dedication to his work and the relationships he built were a testament to his character and integrity. He approached each day with quiet strength, leaving an indelible mark on those around him.

Beyond his professional life, Zachary’s true passion lay in the bonds he nurtured with his family and friends. He was a man of few words but immense love, always offering a listening ear and a comforting presence to those who needed it most. His hobbies and interests reflected his deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures, and his gentle spirit was a source of solace for many.

Zachary’s passing leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled, but his memory will live on in the stories we share and the love we continue to give. As we gather to celebrate his life, we are reminded of the impact he had on all of us, teaching us to cherish each moment and hold our loved ones close.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2026 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL. A Celebration of Life Service will be held for family and close friends, honoring Zachary’s wishes for a quiet and intimate farewell following the visitation.

Zachary’s journey on this earth may have ended, but his legacy of love, strength, and kindness will forever guide us. Rest peacefully, dear Zach, knowing you were deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
