Winifred L. Pope, 84, of Arthur, died at 12:31 PM Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon.
There will be no services. Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Winifred was born August 31, 1928 in Hindsboro, the daughter of Carl and Lucille Wendell Craven. She married Lee Pope in Decatur on December 24, 1945; he preceded her in death in 1958.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Cleta Shackles of Mattoon; Lori (Bob) Behagg of Humboldt; 3 sons, Ken (Elvie) Pope of Copperas Cove, Texas; Bill (Loveta) Pope of Oakland; Robert (Tonya) Pope of Fayetteville, North Carolina; 3 sisters, Catherine McLean of Decatur; Helen Key of Jacobsen, Minnesota; Phyllis Hermining of St. Petersburg, Florida; 3 brothers, Bill Craven of Morton; Fred Craven of Tolono; and Gary Craven of Powder Springs, Georgia; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, three sisters, grandson, and a great granddaughter.
Winifred was a homemaker and attended Oak Grove Baptist in Oakland.
