Willie Clifton West, 83, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 6:28 pm, Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL with his family by his bedside.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Monday, Feb. 8, 2010 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with the Rev. Ken Pierson officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial with military graveside rites will be held at the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL

Mr. West was born on June 6, 1926 in Hermitage Springs, TN, the son of Willie Loren and Attie Davis West. He married Lois Y. Jones on April 22, 1950 in Atwood, IL. She survives.

Other survivors include his brother: Boyd West and wife: Jeanette of TN, Several Nieces and Nephews, Brother-In-Laws: Arnold (Marjorie) Jones, Wayne (Bonnie) Jones, Carl E. (Pat) Jones, Sister-In-Law: Virginia West

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Mr. West retired from Illinois Power Company, where he worked as a lead gas man for 33 years. He was a member of the Morningside Church of Christ, Decatur, IL and a member of the IBEW Local #51. Willie loved to read, camp, fish and hunt. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and a lifetime member of the Warrensburg Gun Club. Willie was a World War II US Army Veteran.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or Morningside Church of Christ

The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Manor in Mt. Zion for their great care and to the fourth floor hospice unit at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
