William L. "Bill" Oesch, 67, of Arthur, died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Mason Point, near Sullivan.

Bill was born May 18, 1950 in Peoria, the son of William E. and Esther L. Wilson Oesch (Plummer).

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Mason Point Chapel near Sullivan with visitation 2 hours prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery with military rites accorded. Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, is assisting the family with services.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Linda (David) Phillips and Alice (Brian) Brooks; niece, Hannah (Kenneth) Humphrey; nephew, Captain Erin (Liezel) Phillips; 2 grand nephews, Kenneth and Andrew Humphrey. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. He did repair and restoration for the Lamp Shop in Arthur. He was a member of the Arthur AF&AM Masonic Lodge #525 where he served twice as the Grand Master and also the American Legion Post.

Bill served in the United States Navy where he was active in the nuclear submarine corp and later served in the Naval Reserves.

Memorials are suggested to the Arthur Boy Scouts or the Graham Veterinary Clinic in Arthur.
