William R. Daniel, 77, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 12:10 a.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Jerry Silver officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial with military graveside rites will be held at the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Mr. Daniel was born on July 4, 1931 in Lexington, IN, the son of Curtis and Mamie Doyle Daniel. He married Vivian N. Kemp on May 14, 1955 in Lexington, IN. She survives.

Other survivors include his three sons: Michael Daniel and wife: Phyllis of Tuscola, IL, Steven Daniel and wife: Michelle of Friendswood, TX, Gerrold Daniel and wife: Colleen of Katy, TX, 5 Grandchildren: Matthew, Christopher, Jacey, Hailey and Adam Daniel, 2 Great-Grandchildren: Cole and Peyton Daniel, one brother: Rev. Melvin Daniel of Prairieville, LA, one sister: Barbara Bare of La Porte, TX

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Daniel retired from USI Chemical Company, Tuscola, IL in 1988, where he worked as a painter. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union and a member of the First Baptist Church of Tuscola. He loved to raccoon hunt, fish, camp and travel. He was a US Army Veteran.
