William James Bartlett, 79, of Mattoon, died at 2:58 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2017 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date. Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bill was born September 18, 1937 in Mattoon, the son of John James and Martha Catherine Montgomery Bartlett. He married Rose Mary Sallee in Champaign on February 14, 1978.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary Bartlett of Mattoon; son, Christopher James (Pam) Bartlett of Mattoon; daughter, Lori Lynn Daniels of Shelbyville; 4 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
