William E. Babbs, 60, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 8:11 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Private family graveside services with military rites accorded will be held at the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.

Bill was born on December 11, 1951 in Olney, IL, the son of Warren Dale and Charlene Andrews Babbs. He married Janie Berry on July 1, 1983 in Villa Grove, IL. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2009.

Survivors include his son: Justin Babbs and wife: Michelle of Charleston, IL, daughter: Racheal Babbs of Tuscola, IL, daughter: Dorothy "Dottie" Johnson of Virginia, 4 grandchildren: Rileigh, Macie, Austin and Ashley, sisters: Bonnie Babbs of Urbana, IL and Nancy Babbs of Neoga, IL

He was preceded by his parents, step-mother: Carolyn "Pud" Babbs, brother: Nick Babbs and a granddaughter: Kenzie Babbs

Bill retired from Cabot Corporation, where he worked for 36 years as a maintenance man and fork lift operator. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran. Bill was a member of the Tuscola VFW Post, National Wild Turkey Federation and the Sadorus Sportsman Club. He loved to hunt and fish and he especially loved his dog "Buddy".
