Wesley Allen Eckart, 37, of Hammond, IL, went home at 11:58 a.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2014
The son of Rolland D. and Sharon K. Conour Eckart, he was born on May 7, 1976 in Decatur, IL
Wes attended Atwood-Hammond High School. He love bow hunting, fishing, camping and golfing. Wesley was an associate member of the Pope & Young Club and he was awarded the 5 th best trophy for white tailed deer kill in the State of Illinois in 2001. He was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan, loved his family and life. He enjoyed working on cars and was gifted mechanically. His most recent hobby was RC trucks. If anyone was in need, Wes was there to help.
Wesley was the road maintenance worker for Unity Township and was a technician at Plastipak Packaging for 8 years.
He leaves his girlfriend of 10 years, Amanda Fischer and her daughters: Ashley and Stacey of Hammond, IL. Other survivors include his mother of Hammond, brother: Waylon (Tammy) Eckart of League City, TX, sisters: Angela (Jon) Parsons of Hammond, IL and Diane (Bob) Parrish of Lovington, IL, nephews: Maddux, Jayce and Jayden, nieces: Mackenzie and Bentley.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hammond Cemetery, Hammond, IL
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations to be used for funeral expenses would be appreciated.
