Obituary
Wayne Eugene Blaase, 89, of Arthur, died at 6:45 AM Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Arthur Home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Arthur Cemetery with Rev. Evelyn Hale officiating. Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Wayne was born January 22, 1921 in Douglas County, the son of Fred and Grace Riley Blaase. He was united in marriage to Dorothy M. Schable in St. Charles, Missouri on July 4, 1942; she preceded him in death on October 16, 2008.
Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Robinson of Atwood; 2 grandchilden, Steve Robinson and wife Jan of Atwood; Vicki Robinson of Tuscola; 3 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
Wayne was employed at Progress Industries, Arthur, as a welder and foreman. After retiring, he helped farm for many years. He was a member of the Vine Street Christian Church in Arthur. His hobbies included boating, fishing, hunting, and working in the garden and yard.
