Wallace Logan Dicks, 80, of Arthur, IL, passed away at 1:47 A.M., Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 8, 2008 at the Arthur United Methodist Church, 128 East Illinois Street, Arthur, IL, with the Rev. Leroy Allison officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the Shrader Funeral Home, 431 South Vine Street, Arthur, IL. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery, Arthur, IL.
Mr. Dicks was born on January 10, 1928 in Broadlands, IL, the son of Kenneth Thompson and Mary Logan Dicks. He married Mary Joan Blaase on August 29, 1948 in Arthur, IL. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2004.
Survivors include his sons: Scott Dicks and wife: Linda of Middleton, WI, Steve Dicks and wife: Teresa of Arthur, IL, Drew Dicks of Arthur, IL,
and one daughter: Debra Kimery and husband: Larry of Mattoon, IL, 6 Grandchildren: Andrew W. Wild of Champaign, IL, Ryan B. Wild of Normal, IL, Casey Dicks and Neil Dicks both of Scottsdale, AZ, Lucas S. Dicks of Edwardsville, IL and Cody L. Dicks of Arthur, IL, 1 Brother: Noel Dicks and wife: Iris of Arthur, IL, Sister-In-Law: Janece Dicks of Arthur, IL
He was preceded in death by his Parents and 1 Brother: Darrell Dicks

Mr. Dicks retired from Toccoa Casket Company in Arthur. He had formerly worked as a marketing manager for Staley Mfg. in Decatur, IL. He was the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Progress Industries in Arthur. Wally was a member of the Arthur United Methodist Church, Arthur Masonic Lodge # 825, AF & AM, and the Illinois Funeral Director's Association. He graduated from Arthur High School, and Illinois Wesleyan University and received his master's in economics from the University of Illinois, where he also played baseball and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Wally was an avid sports fan and enjoyed archery, hunting and fishing.
