W. Montelle "Monte" Heacock, Jr., 84, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 9:28 p.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Kenneth Roedder officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m., on Sunday until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL

Monte was born on December 11, 1928 in Tuscola,IL, the son of Willis M. and Ruby C. Metcalf Heacock, Sr. He married Betty I. Barnes on March 13, 1949 in Tuscola, IL. She survives.

Other survivors include his son: Rick Heacock, daughters: Connie Adkins and Lora Johnson all of Decatur, IL and Pamela (Larry) Swiney of Bradford, TN, 7 grandchildren: Michelle Luttrell, Brian Luttrell, Tiffanie Ramsey, Will (Tasha) Heacock, Christopher (Sabrina) Lee, Jennifer (Troy) Maddox, and Franchesca (Bryan) Rutherford, 16 great-grandchildren, sister: Carmen Reid of Tampa, FL and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Deborah Luttrell and brother: Albert Heacock.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the donor's choice.

Monte worked in retail sales, managing several department stores in Joliet and Hillsboro. He worked at Sears, Western Tire, operated a used car lot and he retired from Greenberg's Shoe Store, where he worked for close to 40 years.
