Vonda K. Sexton, 88, of Tuscola, IL, formerly of Lafayette, IN, passed away at 2:50 A.M., Sunday, November 2, 2008 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., EST Friday, November 7, 2008 at the Christ Connections Ministry (formerly Linnwood Church of Christ)1508 North 16th Street, Lafayette, IN, with visitation being held 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette, IN. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL is handling the arrangements.
Mrs. Sexton was born on June 20, 1920 in St. Bernice, IN, the daughter of R.D. and Edith L. Wagner Armstrong. She married Billie George Sexton on January 31, 1944 in Clinton, IN. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2005.
Survivors include: 1 Son: Richard "Dick" Sexton and wife: Mary Ellen of LeClaire, IA,
1 Sister: Wilma Allen and husband: Jack of Tuscola, IL, 2 Granddaughters: Amanda Phipps and Melissa Sturlic, 3 Great-Granddaughters: Renata Sturlic, Sarah Phipps and Anna Phipps
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army or Christ Connections Ministry.
Mrs. Sexton was a graduate of Indiana Teachers' College in Terre Haute, IN. She was a former school teacher and homemaker. She was a member of the Linnwood Church of Christ in Lafayette, IN.
