Virginia L. Strohecker, 91, of Arthur, IL passed away at 6:59 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Virginia was born August 19, 1931 in Springfield, IL. the daughter of Lee and Marie Tomlinson Frazier.

She grew up in St. Louis, MO and Alton, IL.  She graduated from Alton Senior High in 1949.  In her sophomore year at Millikin University, Decatur, IL, she met her future husband, Chester Strohecker.  They married in June 1950 in Alton. He preceded her in death in 2019 after 69 years of marriage.

Virginia received her undergraduate degree from SIUE and her masters from EIU.  She taught in the Arthur School district for twenty-five years retiring in 1991.

Virginia is survived by her 5 daughters: Jane (Rich) Huebner, Kendall (Tim) Waller, Nancy (Don) Strohecker, Dale (Bruce) Blew and Ginny (Mike) Cox, 14 grandchildren and numerous great and great- great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 sons: Schone and Thom Strohecker.

A private family service will be held.  Shrader Funeral Home, 431 South Vine St. Arthur, IL in assisting the family with arrangements.
