Obituary
Virginia Marie Oliger, 82, of Pesotum, IL passed away at 1:45 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 E. Northline Rd., Tuscola, IL with Rev. Michael Ruhlig officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery, Pesotum, IL. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 S. Main St., Tuscola, IL has been entrusted with the services.
Virginia was born January 28, 1927 in Jacob, IL the daughter of William and Lydia Rowald Rathjen. She married Neil Oliger on December 2, 1944 in St. Louis, MO. He survives in Tuscola, IL.
Other survivors include: 1 Son: Jerry Oliger and wife: Sue of Pesotum, IL; 2 Daughters: Marsha Davis and husband: Lee of Silver Lake, IN; Elaine Foltz and husband: Larry of Wallis, TX; 1 Brother: Bill Rathjen of Indianapolis, IN; 1 Sister: Helen Darnstaedt of Nashville, IL; 5 Grandchildren: Brian Davis, Brent Foltz, Sheri Foltz, Jaimie Oliger and Kiel Oliger; 1 Great-Granddaughter: Emma Foltz.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, 3 Brothers and 3 Sisters.
Mrs. Oliger was a very active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Champaign County Farm Bureau. She worked in the food service department at the University of Illinois for many years.
