Virginia R. Lee, 97, of Tuscola, formerly of Pesotum, passed away at 4:00 am, Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Dr. Randy J. Gauger officiating. Visitation will be one hour preceding the service. Burial will be in the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola.

Mrs. Lee was born on November 20, 1910, in Lebanon, IN, the daughter of Elmer and Eva May Brian Riddle. She married Albert Lee on June 10, 1936. He died September 13, 1987.

Survivors include a niece, Sue Riddle Summerville of Tolono. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Myron Riddle.

Mrs. Lee was a retired school teacher and homemaker. She was a 50-year Jewel member of the Tuscola Women's Club where she was in the literary and Bible departments. She was 19th District treasurer for the IL General Women's Club. She was also a member of the Douglas County Home Extension, the Champaign County Farm Bureau, and a 50-year member of the Tuscola Chapter 44 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Tuscola United Methodist Church.
