Viola B. Dallas, 89, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 6:50 p.m., Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Ralph Deal officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL

Viola was born on March 2, 1925 in Sargent Township, Douglas County, IL, the daughter of Charles W. and Bertha M. Hauser Underwood. She married Lowell Dallas on January 20, 1951 in Tuscola, IL. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2006.

Survivors include her son: Gary (Carol) Dallas of Tuscola, daughter: Debbie (David) Horath of Tuscola, grandchildren: Eric (Beth) Horath and Crystal (Brian) Dann both of Tuscola, great-grandchildren: Kannah Sollars of Paris, Taylor Dann Lopez of Champaign, Chris Dann, Shawn Drake, Maggie Horath and Allison Horath all of Tuscola, great-great-grandchildren: Carly and Aiden Dann, sister: Esther Jordan of Foundation Run, KY

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law: Dawn Dallas, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Memorials are suggested to the Tuscola United Church of Christ or the American Heart Association.

Viola was the manager at Denny's Cleaners in Tuscola for 8 years. She formerly worked at the DeKalb Seed Company and the Matinee Store both in Tuscola. She was a member of the Tuscola United Church of Christ, Douglas County Museum Association and Tuscola Senior Citizens.
