Obituary

Bartella (Tillie) Ferguson, 87, of Urbana, formerly of Decatur and Rantoul, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 12:10 PM at the Champaign County Nursing Home.

Tillie was born on December 29, 1925 in Stonington to Jonathan and Stella Crabtree. She was married to Gene Ferguson of Hammond. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughter- in- laws, Vienna (Donald) Ferguson and Rebecca (Rodger) Ferguson; one grandson and one great granddaughter. She is survived by three siblings, Bob Crabtree of Tennessee, Eunice Erisman of Dekalb, and twin sister Sallie Sherman of Colorado; three sons, Don Ferguson of South Carolina, Dan (Pam) Ferguson of Ivesdale, and Rodger Ferguson of Champaign; 12 grandchildren, Victor Ferguson (deceased), Jacob, Enoch and David Ferguson all of North Carolina, Robbie Ferguson of Highland, Holly Kirby of Paxton, Esther Wilson of Champaign, Lydia Gard of Santiago, Dominican Republic, Abigail Meyers of Champaign, Gabby Ferguson of Portland, Oregon, Salome Soriano-Reyes of Reynosa, Mexico, Sam Ferguson of Plainfield, 21 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. Tillie loved many people well and she was loved like a mother by Randy Hotte of South Carolina, Bev Carter of Kentucy, and Edena Teuscher of Fisher.

Tillie was known as a woman of faith and a fervent prayer warrior. She was an avid cook who could be called upon at any time with any cooking question imaginable and have an immediate answer. Tillie was a founding member of Women's A Glow in Rantoul and was a faithful member of Rantoul Assembly of God. She was the first woman employed at K's Merchandise in Decatur, IL.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the First Wesleyan Church of Urbana, 408 E Illinois St, with Rev. Dr. Kevin Wilson officiating. Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola, is assisting the family with arrangements.

distributed to the ministries that her grandchildren serve with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, G.O. Ministries and La Vina Mexico.
