Thomas M. Schweighart, 54, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 8:06 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2009 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial with military graveside rites will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Tom was born on January 17, 1955 in Urbana, IL.

Survivors include his Mother: Shirley Schweighart of Tuscola, Sons: Christopher Schweighart of Tuscola, Joseph Schweighart and wife: Emily of Atwood, Brothers: Larry Schweighart and Bill Schweighart both of Tuscola, Robert Schweighart of Tolono,
Sisters: Linda Byers of Arthur, Carol Meeker of Tolono and Sharon Kirby of St. Joseph, Grandchildren: Lanie Burchett and Madison Schweighart

He was preceded in death by his Father: Joseph J. Schweighart, Brother: Charles Shaw and Sister: Judy Sorenson

Tom was a truck driver for Skinner Farms. He was the owner of Douglas County Overhead Door Company. Tom was a US Navy Vietnam War Veteran and member of the TK Martin VFW Post 10009. He worked for Ace Ambulance Service in Tuscola for over 20 years. Tom loved to cook, fish, play golf and his greatest passion was spending time with his grandchildren.
