Thomas A. Meyer, 72, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 1:56 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2010 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 East Van Allen Street, with Father Barry Harmon officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Private family interment will be held at a later date.

Tom was born on May 12, 1937 in Tuscola, IL, the son of Everett W. and Florentine R. Cler Meyer.

Survivors include his children: Carmen Meyer and her husband: Paul Jenks of Albuquerque, NM, Alex Meyer and wife: Beth of St. Joseph, IL, 3 Grandchildren: Aiden Meyer, Ava Meyer and Ofelia Jenks, 1 Brother: Wayne Meyer and wife: Margaret of Tuscola, IL

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Everett and Chuck Meyer and a sister: Wanda Helm

Tom was a retired farmer. He graduated from the University of Illinois. Tom served his country in the US Navy Reserves. He loved animals, fishing, model airplanes, farming, woodworking and being outdoors. Throughout his life he enjoyed sports, whether it was playing or organizing them.
