Thomas R. Haney, Jr., 60, of Atwood, passed away at 10:05 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Celebration of Life Services with military rites will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2024 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL with Pastor Woody White officiating.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Thomas was born on April 18, 1964 in Pana, the son of Thomas R. Haney, Sr. And Peggy S. Moore.

Survivors include his mother: Peggy Craft of Atwood, his children:  Thomas R. (Tabitha) Haney, III of Mattoon, Taira Haney of Decatur, Timothy Haynes of Shelbyville and Tyler Haynes of Mattoon, 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, brother: John Edward (Darcy) Haney of Atwood, sisters: Melony Moore of Tuscola, step-sisters: Beth Durbin of KY and Theresa Danish of CA.

He was preceded in death by his father, infant daughter: Trina Kay Haney, sister: Susan White, and step-brother: Jonathan Craft.

Thomas was a US Army Veteran. He worked as a drywall installer and he enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and cooking, especially grilling out.
