Terry Traxler Obit

Terry Neal Traxler, 67, of Shelbyville, died at 6:23 pm. Monday, December 25, 2017 at Good Shephard Hospital in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, with Rev. John Maples officiating. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service.

Terry was born February 2, 1950 in Tuscola, the son of Darren "Deke" and Darlene June Agge Traxler.

Survivors include his special friend, Sandi Lowry, of Shelbyville; 2 sons, Nick (Kelli) Traxler of Chesterfield, Missouri; Andrew (Rachelle) Traxler of Columbus, Wisconsin; 2 daughters, Christine Yaden (Ken) of Kannapolis, N. Carolina; Callie Traxler of Shelbyville; brother, Allan (Linda) Traxler of Effingham; sister, Mary Traxler of Arthur; and 2 grandchildren, Emma and Brynn. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Anita.

Terry was a graduate of Arthur High School Class of 1968. He was a route driver for Coke for 7 years; then he became a Prudential Insurance Agent for 30 years; and later worked for JBH.

He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Sullivan where he served as a Deacon.

Terry always put family first. He was also an avid fisherman, die-hard Cubs Fan, and Illini Sports supporter.
