Terrell E. "Terry" Golightly Edwards, 54, of Arthur, IL passed from this life at 11 a.m., Monday, February 17, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL, surrounded by friends and family.

He is survived by his wife Barbara (Suzy) Edwards of Arthur, children: Ian D. Edwards of Mattoon, Alexandra (Kate), Steven and Kenzie Edwards, all of Arthur, and his mother Glenda Edwards of Sullivan.

He was preceded in death by his fathers, A.L. Golightly, Dr. Ian Keith Edwards, and an infant son, Nathaniel Keegan Edwards.

Terrell was born April 3, 1965, in Madisonville, KY, the son of Glenda Josleyn Golightly Edwards and A.L. Golightly, and was later raised by his stepfather, Dr. Ian Keith Edwards. He served 3 years in the U.S. Army before marrying Barbara Sue Dean on February 6, 1988. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Theology from Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, MN in 1999.

Terrell was a talented musician, playing the lead guitar in a local Christian band, Simply Jesus. He was heavily involved in ministry and service to his church, The Journey, in Effingham, IL. He was also artistically talented and a huge Miami Dolphins fan. He was known for his reserved sense of humor, and his love for God and his family.

Visitation will be Friday, February 21, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service immediately following at the Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine St. Arthur, IL.

The family requests no flowers or plants, memorials may be made out to the Terrell Edwards Memorial Fund at the State Bank of Arthur, P.O. Box 375, Arthur, IL 61911
