IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tammie
Carson
August 15, 1959 – February 13, 2025
Tammie Jean Carson, the eldest child of the (late) Harold David Brownlee and the (late) Dora Charlene Blakeney, was born August 15, 1959, and gained her wings on February 13, 2025 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. She battled cancer twice and struggled with COPD. She gave a good fight.
Tammie was Baptist and confessed Christ at an early age and had her own relationship with her Lord and Savior.
She was educated at Kirk Academy in Grenada, MS, where she was a local basketball star. She left Mississippi State and her basketball career to live free with No strings! I remember that she let her hair grow long, got tattoos, and joined a biker group. She wasn't much on rules. Anyone who knew her knows she was a free-spirited, fun-loving, tie-dye-wearing hippie at heart. She loved her Lynard Skynard and a cold one on a hot day. She was a sweet soul who loved her husband, kids, grandkids, siblings, and her fur baby, SKY.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years: Chris Carson, son: JJ Eglseder, daughters: Missie Schnese and Miranda Carmack, 9 grandchildren, brother: Jimmy "Bubba" Phillips, sisters: Angie "Sis" Phillips, Renee Graves and Deb Richardson. Tammie also had plenty of love from numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold David Brownlee and Dora Charlene Blakeney, son: Michael Eglseder and brother: Chuck Holt.
Per her wishes, her body was cremated and her ashes will be taken to the Smoky Mountains.
