T. Jeannine Garrett, 77, of Tuscola, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, September 22, 2024 at her residence.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with a visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Jeannine was born on July 1, 1947 in Aurora, IL, to John and Twila (Oswald) Garrett.
Survivors include her daughter, Samantha Garrett of Nashville, TN, sister, Ruth Ann Sarro of Marshfield, WI, and beloved extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Joe and Pat Garrett.
Jeannine enjoyed a life of service in her community. After completing her undergraduate and juris doctorate degrees at Southern Illinois University, Jeannine opened a law practice in Tuscola. For more than forty years, she passionately represented clients throughout the region. She was a member and former president of the Douglas County Bar Association and served on the Douglas County Health Board.
Jeannine was a lifelong lover of animals. She especially loved her dogs, Elliot, Walter, and George, and her horse, Toby. She had a wealth of dear friendships both new and lifelong.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Transitions Hospice, Carle Home Health, and Carle Home Infusion, whose services allowed her to be in the comfort of her own home, her favorite place.
