Susan Ellen Mayfield, 68, of Arthur, died at 11:45 PM Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Arthur Home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Arthur Cemetery with Rev. Leroy Allison officiating. There will be no visitation. Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Susan was born October 10, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Herbert and Shirley Joyner Myers. She first married Robert Taylor in 1961and he preceded her in death. She then marrried Wayne Mayfield in Arthur in 1984; he survives.
Survivors include her husband Wayne Mayfield of Arthur; mother, Shirley Myers of Baltimore, Maryland; son, Robert Taylor of Arthur; daughter, Judy Taylor of Tuscola; sister, Judith Myers of Delaware; stepdaughters, Alesia Waters of Glencoe, Alabama; Janan Simpson of Jacksonville, Florida; and many grandchildren and step grandchildren.
Susan had worked at Masterbrand Cabinets, formerly Schrock Cabinets, in Arthur for 21 years. She was a member of the Arthur United Methodist Church and had served as a girl scout, brownie scout, and cub scout den mother. She also served on the Boy Scout Committee.
