Susan B. Hall

Our beloved mom, Susan Bechtel Hall, age 66, of Tuscola, IL passed away on March 17, 2026 at 8:25 pm with her 2 daughters by her side.

She was born on March 18, 1959 in Salem, IL to Charles J. Bechtel and Frances M. (Eagan) Bechtel. She graduated from Tuscola High School in 1977. She married Jerry Hall in 1979.

Susan was a devoted mom, nana, friend, and companion. She spent her whole life providing for others. Susan was a home daycare provider for nearly 20 years and then continued to mentor children through the United Methodist Church after school PASS Program. She retired in May of 2023. She spent much of her life volunteering with Becky’s Buddies as they raised money for the American Cancer Society.

Susan was known for her caring personality, willingness to help others, her commitment to her community and her church, and her incredible strength. She found so much joy in spending time with her family and especially with her 10 grandchildren.

She is survived by daughters Erica (Adam) Sherer and Elizabeth (Andy) Henningsen, grandchildren Reese, Nolan, Dereon, and Kyrie Sherer, Maggie, Emma, Amelia, Charles, Jonathan, Josephine Henningsen, John Waldrop (companion), Siblings: Denny Bechtel, Dottie Browning (James Flenniken), Scott (Lisa) Bechtel, Jeff Bechtel (Debbie Bathe).

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Frances Bechtel, brothers John Bechtel and Sam Bechtel, and sister-in- law Barb Bechtel.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 20th, 2026, from 4-7 pm at Tuscola United Methodist Church. A funeral will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:30 am at Tuscola United Methodist Church, followed by a burial at Tuscola Township Cemetery.
