Susan Eileen Bursa, 73, of Arthur, died at 12:08 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Richland Healthcare and Rehab in Olney.

Susan was born February 4, 1951 in Highland, the daughter of Lewis and Eileen Kious Darnell.

She is survived by her son, Karl (Tara) Bursa of Wildwood, Florida; daughter, Kristianna (Michael) Myus of Abbeville, S. Carolina; grandchildren, Liam and Flynn Bursa; Elise, Olivia, Zachary (Kali), Ian, Helena, Memphis, and Gunner Myus; brothers, Jesse (Diane) Darnell; and Richard Darnell.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents;  3 brothers, William, Don, and James Darnell.

Susan graduated from SIUE with a degree in special education.  She had worked as a court reporter in Douglas, Moultrie, and Coles County.  She was a member of the Vine Street Christian Church in Arthur.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later day.  Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to the Douglas County Animal Shelter.
