Shirley K. Taylor, 64, of Tuscola, IL, passed away suddenly at 9:09 pm, Friday, July 22, 2011 at the Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, IL
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 East Van Allen Street, Tuscola, IL, with Father Barry Harmon as celebrant. A vigil service will be held at 4 pm with visitation following from 5 to 8 pm on Monday, July 25, 2011 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.
Shirley was born on January 28, 1947 in Tuscola, IL, the daughter of Quentin M. and E. Catherine Scheu Weber. She married Robert J. Taylor on December 31, 1966 in Tuscola, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are her children: Rob Taylor and wife: Laurie of Monticello, IL, Mike Taylor of Tuscola, IL with Annie, Marshall, Ella Shuler, and Heather Brown and husband: Mark of Tuscola, IL, grandchildren: Dylan Taylor, Megan Taylor, Leslie Taylor and Preston Brown, brother: Bill Weber and wife: Elaine of Plano, TX, sisters: Joan Colwell of Champaign, IL and Judy Weber-Jones and husband: Rusty of Champaign, IL
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Ronnie Weber and granddaughter: Tiffany Brown
Shirley and her husband operated the Montgomery Ward's in Tuscola from 1974 until 1984. She then worked as a bank teller at the First Mid Illinois Bank and First Federal Bank both in Tuscola, retiring in 1996 to care for her parents and grandchildren.
She was a very active member of the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church and she was a member of the ABC auxiliary. Shirley played in several card clubs and she enjoyed making bracelets for Becky's Buddies Relay for Life team. She loved to attend her children's and grandchildren's school activities.
