Obituary
Shirley J. Scheffer, 92, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 8:05 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Arthur Home.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL. No visitation will be held. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Atwood, IL is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Shirley was born on October 9, 1925 in Wayne County, MI, the daughter of Russell and Alice Ritter Temple. She married Robert H. Scheffer on November 6, 1943 in Buffalo, NY. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2004.
Survivors include her sons: Rick and Tom Scheffer both of Atwood, daughters: Jeanne Lust of Hammond and Chris Wells of Sadorus, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son: Robert R. Scheffer.
Shirley was a homemaker. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to the Arthur Home staff for the loving care their mother received while a patient there.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
