Shirley E. Rahn, 75, of Tuscola, IL, went to meet her Lord on February 12, 2012 at the Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 East Northline Road, Tuscola, IL, with Pastor Jason Braaten officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday at the church. Private family graveside services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL is handling the arrangements.
Shirley was born in New London, CT on April 12, 1936. She attended school in Murdock, IL, Trinidad, and graduated from Tuscola Community High School.
She married Henry Rahn at Tuscola, IL on October 9, 1955 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Shirley worked many years farming with her husband, also working as a secretary for Dr. Platzbecker of Atwood, IL. She was a very active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband: Henry Rahn, daughter: Teresa Rahn of Newman, Il, son: Philip Rahn of Toledo, OH and daughter: Denise Brierley of Toledo, OH, 6 grandchildren: Danielle Overberger, Ross Robinson, Hannah Robinson, Ashley Rahn, Jessica Salvati and Chase Brierley, 6 great-grandchildren: Abigal, Zoey, Logan, Lexie, Alyva and Kyrstin, sister: Bethel Borden of Indianapolis, IN
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Shirley enjoyed traveling, cross stitching, knitting and fishing.
Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
