Shirley M. Cordts, 81, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 6:30 pm, Sunday, October 3, 2010 at her residence.
Private family graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the Lake Fork Cemetery, rural Atwood, IL
Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL is handling the arrangements
Mrs. Cordts was born on August 30, 1929 in Arthur, IL, the daughter of Cecil and Cora Laatsch Richardson. She married Donald A. Cordts on July 3, 1951 in Tuscola, IL. He preceded her in death on September 16, 1999.
Survivors include: 2 Sons: Donald A. Cordts, II and wife: Cindy of Atwood, Rolfe H. Cordts of Atwood, 1 daughter: Ericka D. Crist and husband: Richard of Atwood, 2 Granddaughters: Shana Bailliez and Samantha Crist, 1 Grandson: Zane Crist, 1 Great-Granddaughter: Emma Bailliez, 1 Brother: Kent Richardson of Decatur
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Earl Richardson, 2 sisters: Doris Odom and an infant sister.
Mrs. Cordts was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lake Fork United Church of Christ, American Legion Auxiliary and Louisiana Historical Society. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and working in her flower garden.
