Shane Allen Harshbarger, 36, of Pierson Station, IL passed away peacefully at 1:29 pm, Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. He was surrounded by his loved ones.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL.
Shane was born August 22, 1988 in Urbana, IL, the son of John and Paula Harshbarger.
His whole world was his daughter Amelia June Harshbarger born April 28, 2021. Everything he did was for her. He was so proud of being her dad or as she would call him Daddy. They loved to play outside, go to the park, swing and play. He always loved eating the food she cooked for him on her play kitchen and drank every drink she would make him. He loved and cherished every moment and memory they had together. His legacy lives on through his daughter.
Other survivors include his mother: Paula Harshbarger of Pierson Station, siblings: David Harshbarger of Atwood, Amber Harshbarger of Carmi, IL, John and Brittany Harshbarger of Sullivan, IL, Shawn Harshbarger of Atwood. Nieces and Nephews: Megan, Michael, Makayla, Kenleigh, Hudson, and Wren.
He was preceded in death by his Dad John Harshbarger, Grandparents: Paul and Alberta Harshbarger, Gene Norman, Aunts and Uncles: Robert and Reba Beck, Anna Stauder, Cousin: Ainsley Drew Beck
He had worked most recently as a tax preparer for H&R Block, he also worked as a security guard for Christie Clinic for several years, he loved this job and cherished working with everyone.
His hobbies included golfing, shopping for cars, mowing, going to concerts and sporting events. He recently took his family to see a St. Louis Blues hockey game. Shane and his brother Shawn went to see a Jelly Roll concert which was one of his favorite artists. He also spent a lot of time listening to worship music. He also loved getting outside to mow everyone's yards in Pierson. He loved being able to travel. He had a chance to travel to New York City, Maryland, Washington D.C., Florida, Tennessee, Las Vegas. He had a chance to experience zip lining and loved it. Shane loved eating at new restaurants. One of his favorite restaurants to eat at was Oishi Hibachi Steakhouse. Shane used to own a Ford Mustang which was his favorite car and he absolutely loved driving it.
Shane cherished everyone that came into his life.
