Ruth M. Henderson, 105, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 9:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2011 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL, with Rev. Patty Johansen officiating. No visitation will be held. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Ruth was born on September 23, 1906 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Bruce and Clara Shasteen Ferguson. She married Dr. David Franklin Henderson in 1923 at Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1983.
Survivors include her nephew: Ned Ferguson and wife: Audriana of Arcola, IL and her niece: Anne Monahan and husband: Jim of Arcola, IL and several great nieces and nephews.
Ruth formerly owned and operated her own beauty shop. She was a member of the Tuscola United Methodist Church. She and her husband moved to Tuscola from Louisville, KY following their retirement. Ruth always enjoyed gardening, knitting and watching the Kentucky Derby.
Memorials are suggested to the Tuscola United Methodist Church or Provena Hospice.
