Russell E. Hackett, 91, of Murdock, IL, died at 8:53 AM, Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at the Newman Health Care Center, Newman, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, November 17, 2006 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Murdock Cemetery, Murdock, Illinois.
Mr. Hackett was born on January 30, 1915 near Villa Grove, IL, the son of Joseph Elrah and Rose Cooper Hackett. He married Bernice Albritton on August 8, 1938 in St. Charles, MO. She preceded him in death on February 8, 1990.
Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Barbara Coslet and husband: Harold of Murdock, IL, Karen Hackett of Champaign, IL, 2 Sisters: Francis Simpson of Crawfordsville, IN, Lois Crossman of Tuscola, IL, 2 Grandchildren: Ellen Lindsey of Urbana, IL, Duane Coslet of Tuscola, IL, 1 Great-Grandson: Joseph Russell Lindsey
He was preceded in death by his Parents, 5 Sisters, 1 Grandson, 1 Great-Granddaughter
Memorials are suggested to the Hackett Family for a memorial to be established in memory of Russell E. Hackett.
Mr. Hackett was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Murdock United Methodist Church, where he served on the church board for many years.
He was a former Murdock Volunteer Fireman. He was a former ASCS grain inspector for several years. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his loving family.
