Ruby I. Cook, 87, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 4:41 a.m., Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Dale Tomas officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL

Ruby was born on January 31, 1928 on the family farm in rural Wayne County, IL, the daughter of John and Gladys C. Schofield Smith. She married Gail "Abe" Cook on November 1, 1946 in Wayne City, IL. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1994.

Survivors include her son: Bill (Markie) Cook of Camargo, IL, daughter: Brenda (Gene) Ankenbrand of Champaign, IL, 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. 4 sisters including her twin: Ruth Jones of Plymouth, CA, Florence Talbot and Betty Cameron both of Fairfield, IL and Imojean Caudle of Lee's Summit, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Gale Cook, Jr., daughter: Marilyn Davidson, 3 brothers, 4 sisters and 2 great-grandsons.

Ruby formerly worked at Williams Grocery Store, DeKalb Seed Company and Wellworth Dime Store all in Tuscola. She was a member of the Tuscola First Baptist Church. Ruby enjoyed quilting, sewing and gardening.

Memorials are suggested to the Carle Cardiac Unit.
