Ross Charles Taylor was born January 16, 1991 in Urbana, the son of Michelle and Phil "Philo" Schrock and Jeff Taylor, all of Arthur.
Ross was a student at Lake Land College and an employee of The Great Pumpkin Patch for 5 years. Ross attended school in Arthur, graduating in 2009, where he participated in football and baseball. He enjoyed golfing, shooting hoops, hanging out with his friends and family, and the Cubs.
Ross was always there to help out whenever anyone needed his help. He always worked hard and tackled any task that was thrown his way. This fall he discovered his decorating abilities when he put up displays at various locations for the Pumpkin Patch. From his years at the Patch, he learned a lot about plants and weeds and taught his mom the proper way to hoe.
Family was important to Ross and he showed it in many ways. He was always a good sport about doing things that he may not have wanted to do but put a smile on his face and did it.
Ross leaves to cherish his memory his mother, stepfather, father; his loving sister, Abigail Lauren Taylor of Arthur; his grandparents, Bob and Sandi McDonald of Arthur, Wilma and Larry Peters of Texas, and Charles and Mary Jane Taylor of Mattoon; his aunt and uncle, Shannon and Owen Lancaster; and cousins, Maddie, Evan, and Gabi Lancaster all of McKinney, Texas; uncles Ross and Dave Taylor and many friends. He also leaves behind the family pets who he helped take care of but loved to tease.
Ross was preceded in death by his Uncle Mike Taylor, great grandparents, and good friend, Max Hendrix.
The family requests memorial donations to help find a cure for Lymphoma which Ross' stepfather has been battling since May: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202. www.leukemia-lymphoma.org.
