Roseann D. "Rosie" Crowder, 88, of Tuscola, passed away at 6:50 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2024 at HSHS St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Rev. Ralph Deal officiating. Burial will follow in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Monday, October 7, 2024 at the funeral home. Eastern Star Services will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Rosie was born on March 12, 1936 in Tuscola, the daughter of George Frank and Ethel Catherine Pigg Mayer. She married Charles E. "Chuck" Crowder on December 24, 1955 in Tuscola. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2017.

Survivors include her daughter: Susie (Dale) Lonzerotti of Springfield, IL, son: Jimmy "Jim" (Winnie) Crowder of Hattiesburg, MS, granddaughter: Jennifer (Kyle) McDowell, great-grandchildren: Parker, Alexis and Leeman, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Wayne Mayer and Bill Mayer, sisters: Catherine Stewart and Ruth Goad.

Rosie graduated from Tuscola Community High School in 1954. She was a member of the Tuscola United Church of Christ and a 54-year member of the Tuscola Chapter #44 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and served as area president of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Rosie formerly worked at the Tuscola Community Schools as a cook and custodian for several years. She and Chuck enjoyed spending their winters together in Texas. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Shriners' Children's Hospital or to the Eastern Star Home, Macon, IL
