Rosemary Harden of Arthur was taken home February 16, 2010 at the age of 89. She was a resident of McKinley Court Care and Rehab in Decatur.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, with Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
Rosemary was born April 30, 1920, in Tuscola, the daughter of Elmer and Rose Bennett Donnals; she was one of 12 children. She married Karl Howell in 1938; he preceded her in death in 1956. She then married James Harden in 1958; he preceded her in death in 1996.
Survivors include 2 sons, Larry Howell and wife Sue of Decatur; Charles Howell and wife Nancy of San Jose, California; 4 sisters, Faye Lewis and Dorothy Decker both of Tuscola; Irene Horseman of Savoy; Earma Lynch of Jacksonville, South Carolina; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, and one son, Billy Lee Howell.
During her long life, she worked at an ammunition plant during World War II in Joliet; owned Gable's Restaurant and Gas Station in Arthur; worked at Progress Industries in Arthur; and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Vine Street Christian Church in Arthur.
Rosemary waited a long time for the Lord to take her home but he had plans for her. Her work is now done.
Memorials are suggested to McKinley Court Care and Rehab Activity Fund, 500 W. McKinley, Decatur, IL 62526.
