Obituary
Rosella Blacksten, 80, of Atwood, IL passed away at 7:28 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36 Atwood, IL with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL.
Mrs. Blacksten was born March 2, 1933 in Doanville, OH the daughter of Edward and Bertha Hanley Schoonover. She married James L. Blacksten on March 10, 1952 in Athens, OH. He preceded her in death June 16, 2010.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Diane (Bill) Blacksten of Champaign, IL; Kathy (Mike) McGinnis of Michigan City, IN and Debra (Bill) Fornshell of Atwood, IL; 12 grandchildren; 35 great- grandchildren and 6 great- great- grandchildren.
Rosella retired from Phillips Drill Company in Michigan City, IN after many years of services. She was a member of Faith City Assembly of God for 50 plus years before locating to Illinois. Her family was the light of her life.
