Ronald L. Gregory, 78, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 12:39 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with Rev. Mike Drake officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL.

Ronald was born on October 14, 1935 in Tuscola, IL, a son of Wm. Earl and Bessie Buchanan Gregory. He married Peggy J. Benner on April 8, 1955 at the Cartwright Church. She survives.

Also surviving is his son: Danny (Sandy) Gregory of Atwood, grandchildren: Ryan Gregory of Atwood and Krystal (Andy) Miller of Morton, great-grandchildren: Violet, Tate and Olivia, step-grandchildren: Matthew (Colleen) Fairbanks of Lombard, Melissa (Shannon) Valentine or Champaign and Joshua Fairbanks of Chicago, step-great-grandchildren: Samantha, Kaitlyn, Jack and Eleanor, numerous special nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Siler and James Gregory.

Ronald farmed in the Atwood area all of his life. He was a 1954 graduate of Atwood High School and he loved to go fishing.
