Ronald L. Goad, 77, of Garrett, IL, passed away at 9:15 am, Saturday, April 21, 2012 at his residence.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL with the Rev. Ralph Deal officiating. No Visitation will be held. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Atwood, IL is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Goad was born on March 30, 1935 in Urbana, IL, the son of Elmo and Ailene Martin Goad. He married Ruth Mayer on February 23, 1958 in Tuscola, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include 3 sons: Terry Goad of Garrett, IL, Edward Goad and wife: Sandy of Mattoon, IL, Douglas Goad of Garrett, IL, daughter: Donna Goad of Garrett, IL, 4 grandchildren: JW Jacobs and wife: Jacqui, Jessica Jacobs, Jeremy Jacobs and Travis Evans, 3 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren¸2 step-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters: Evonne Urban of Atwood, IL, and Pat Parrish and husband: Bob of Lovington, IL, step-brother: Charles Brightman of Danville, IL,
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, sister: Jean Lowder and brother: Charles Goad
Memorials are suggested to the Atwood Fire Department First Responders
Ronald retired from the University of Illinois Building Services Department. He was a former member of the US Army Reserves.
The family would like to thank everyone at Provena Home Health Care, especially Tammy Gadbury, Sue Miller and Dr. Kenneth Brown for their special care given to Ron.
