Ronald E. Freeman, 72, of Savoy, IL, formerly of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 6:48 am, Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the Champaign Urbana Regional Rehab Center, Savoy, IL

Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL. No Visitation will be held. There will be a gathering of family and friends immediately after the service at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 East Northline Road, Tuscola, IL. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL is handling the arrangements.

Mr. Freeman was born on May 22, 1938 in Decatur, IL, the son of Norwood T. and Ethel L. Nichols Freeman. He married Joan Bryson on May 25, 1958 in Ashland, IL. She preceded him in death on May 20, 2007.

Survivors include his two daughters: Tammy Kresin and husband: Kenny of Tuscola, IL and Kendra Freeman of Auburn, IN, Grandchildren: Tyler Kresin of Tuscola, IL and Mollie Kresin of Champaign, IL, Sister: Barbara Deckard of Arthur, IL and a Half-Sister: Sharon Bobbitt of Arthur, IL, Special Friend: Betty Brown of Savoy, IL, 1 Niece and 1 Nephew

He was preceded in death by his father, mother and step-father: Russell Wilkerson

Ron was a retired farmer. He was a 1957 graduate of Atwood-Hammond High School.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Champaign, Tuscola Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge # 2497. He was a US Army Veteran.
