Obituary

Ronald L. Bailey, 75, of Tuscola IL, passed away peacefully at 8:43 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL surrounded by his family.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Rev. Joseph Carter officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. on Monday until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial with military graveside rites accorded will be held at the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.

Mr. Bailey was born on December 27, 1940 in Burnett, Indiana. He was the son of Lorenzo N. Bailey and Margaret (McClara) Bailey. He married Irma L. Pine on June 23, 1964 in Terre Haute, IN.  She preceded him in death on April 26, 2008.

Survivors include six children, Yvonna (Kenny) Stevens of Atwood, IL, Kenny (Sunhui) Hogue of Tuscola, IL, Tonya (Gary) Shearon of Bement, IL, Norma (Gerry) Stahler of Bement, IL, and Bill (Tonya) Bailey of Navarre, FL.

12 grandchildren: Kenny (Angela) Hogue Jr. of Tuscola, IL, Austin (Jessica) Hogue of Champaign, IL, Tosha (Jesse) Fair of Piracicaba Brazil, Alicia (Russell) Hance of Danville, IL, Jeremy (Ashley) Evans of Oakwood, IL, Jeffrey Bailey of Terre Haute, IN, Angeline Johnson of Boiling Spring Lakes,NC, Blake Bassett of Murphy,OR,  Jesse Bassett (Anna-Lysia Raney) of Villa Grove, IL, Michael (Julia) Bailey of Gulf Breeze, FL, Matthew Bailey of Houston TX, and Jazman Bailey of Navarre, FL.

Also survived by 14 great grandchildren: Grace, Grant, Ella and Eliza Hance of Danville, IL. Kaylee and Nicholas Evans of Oakwood, IL. Peyton and Aubrey Fair of Piracicaba, Brazil, Trae and Jaesyn Bailey of Gulf Breeze, FL, Hudson Hogue of Champaign, IL, David Lee, Juliette, and Lory Sue Johnson of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC.

Mr. Bailey was a hard worker and former coal miner, and retired from Eagle Wing Industries as a Maintenance Electrician in 2007. Ron served in the US Army and he was a member of the Pana Masonic Lodge. He was always willing to help others and enjoyed his cat, Nascar and the Chicago Cubs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a son, Jeff Bailey
