After a lengthy illness, Robert Andrew Stirrett, died at 9:00 A.M.,
Thursday, July 3, 2008, at home with his family at his side.
Robert was born on August 26, 1918 in Sadorus, Illinois to Edgar and Nettie (Smith) Stirrett.
He married Ida Mae Moody on December 5, 1944 in St. Charles, Missouri. She survives.
Other survivors include his children: Dianne (Tom) Smith of Chester, IL Janice (Steve) Willoughby of Atwood, IL and Mike (Diane) Stirrett of Ivesdale, IL, 6 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Sister: Faye Cole of Champaign, IL
Robert was preceded in death by his Parents, 1 Son, 4 Brothers and 4 Sisters.
Mr. Stirrett was a farmer all of his life until his retirement in 2005. He enjoyed watching sports, reading about current events and spending time with his family. For a few years, he was a push truck operator for the National Midget Racing Association.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, July 6, 2008 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with the Rev. Kenneth Roedder officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lake Fork Cemetery, rural Atwood, IL.
