Robert E. Riley, 84, of Tuscola, IL, died at 3:45 PM, Saturday, March 25, 2006 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Harold Williamson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at the funeral home with an 8 PM Masonic Service. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery, Arcola, IL with military graveside rites.

Mr. Riley was born on February 7, 1922 in Ficklin, IL, the son of Harley and Celia Rideout Riley. He married Margie Seaman on October 8, 1955 in Arcola, IL. She survives.

Other survivors include: 2 Sons: William R. Riley of Tuscola, IL, Jeffrey M. Riley and wife; Angie of Tuscola, IL, 1 Daughter: Carol J. Morris and husband: John of Tuscola, IL, 2 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Nephew: Michael Doyle of Champaign, IL

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 Brother, 2 Sisters.

Mr. Riley graduated from Tuscola High School in 1940 and was a graduate of the Illinois State Police Academy in Springfield, IL. Mr. Riley served from 1950-1980 in District 10 at Pesotum, IL as an Illinois State Police Officer, retiring at the rank of Sergeant. He was a US Navy World War II Veteran. He served on the Illinois State Police Pistol Team, having won the championship 7 times. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a NRA member and was an NRA Master Shooter. He was a member of the 1969 National State Police Championship Shooting Team. In 1961, he was the individual National State Police Combat Champion. He was a 50 year member of the Tuscola Masonic Lodge #332, AF & AM. Condolences to the family may be sent to hilligossshraderfh.com
