Robert E. "Punk" Smith, 83, of Hammond, passed away at 2:04 p.m., Sunday, December 28, 2025 at the HSHS St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL with Rev. Doug Davis officiating. Burial will follow with military graveside rites for the US Navy veteran at the Hammond Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, January 1, 2026 at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the services on Friday. 

Memorials are suggested to the Macon County Honor Guard, Tabernacle Baptist Church or Arthur Southern Baptist Church.
