Robert E. Cochran, 86, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 1:55 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Arthur Home, Arthur, IL.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., on Monday, May 21, 2012 followed by a 2:00 p.m. Masonic Service at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL.
Graveside and Military services will be held 2:30 p.m. on Monday at the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL with Rev. Al Rennert officiating.
Mr. Cochran was born October 14, 1925 in Lovington, IL the son of Elmer Allen and Mabel Bailey Cochran. He married Mary Belle Eckel on October 4, 1947 in Decatur, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter: Patricia Lynn Connour of Decatur, IL; 2 granddaughters: Malora (Doug) Snyder of Atwood, IL and Lashelle (Mike) Plank of Arthur, IL, 6 Great-Grandchildren
Mr. Cochran was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son: Danny Wayne Cochran, 1 sister and 1 brother.
Bob retired in 1990 from Caterpillar in Decatur after 35 years of services. He was a World War II Army Veteran. Bob was a 50 year member of the Atwood and Lovington Masonic Lodges, where he served as a past master and currently chaplain. He was a member of the UAW #751 in Decatur, IL. He was a Past Patron of the Lovington Order of the Eastern Star.
