Robert D. "Bob" Schable, 87, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 6:15 A.M., Friday, February 27, 2009 at the Arthur Home, Arthur, IL

Masonic Services will be held at 10:45 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2009 with funeral services following at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with Rev. Conrad Heisner officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m., on Monday, March 2, 2009 until time of services. Burial will be in the Lake Fork Cemetery, rural Atwood, IL.

Mr. Schable was born on October 9, 1921 in Atwood, IL, the son of John W. and Fannie L. Quick Schable. He married Ann Morris Eastin on February 14, 1988 at the Lake Fork Church. She survives.

Other survivors include: Step-Son: Lyle Eastin and wife: Donna of Atwood, Step-Daughters: Janet Livengood and husband: John of Piper City, Joy Morris and husband: Mike of Monticello, LaVonne Long of Clinton, Sister-In-Law: Joanne Schable of Atwood, 11 Step-Grandchildren, 23, Step-Great-Grandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews

He was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Brothers: Gayle Schable and wife: Elizabeth and Loren Schable, 2 Sisters: Bertye Reedy and Hilda Paladino.

Bob was a retired farmer. He and his brother: Loren, had farmed together.
He was a member of the Lake Fork United Church of Christ. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Past Master and 55 year member of the Atwood Masonic Lodge # 651, AF & AM. He was a member of the Springfield Consistory and Ansar Shrine. He was a drainage commissioner for 60 years. Bob was the former president and board member of the Pierson Grain Company Board of Directors for 25 years. He was on the Piatt County FS Board of Directors. Bob was a man of many talents. He enjoyed mowing, gardening, reading and playing cards.
