Robert E. "Bob" Romine, 91, of rural Tuscola, IL, passed away at 9:56 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Patty Johansen and Rev. Kenneth Roedder officiating. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL

Mr. Romine was born on November 17, 1917 at rural Tuscola, IL, the son of James E. and Margaret Vaughn Romine. He married Dorothy Frantz on February 12, 1950 at the Cartwright United Methodist Church. She survives.

Other survivors include his children: Sarah Cannon and husband: Curt of Camargo, IL, Ward Romine and wife: Pam of Bement, IL, Craig Romine and wife: Beth of Tuscola, IL, and Kathy St Ledger and husband: Don of Albion, IL, 9 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Sisters, 2 Brothers and a Granddaughter.

Bob farmed all of his life. He was an Eagle Scout and 50 plus year member of the Tuscola Masonic Lodge #332, AF & AM. He served as a Garrett Township Cemetery Trustee for over 50 years. Bob formerly served as the secretary and board member of the Tuscola School District Board. He was the former treasurer of the Cartwright United Methodist Church and his is a member of the Tuscola United Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed watching sports, fishing and hunting.
