Robert D. Morrow, 93, of Tuscola, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 30, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on March 4, 1933, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Cleo and Edith (Shafer) Morrow. Robert had one brother, Richard.

Bob attended El Camino College in Manhattan Beach, where he proudly competed on the golf team.

On December 23, 1953, Robert married his beloved wife, Carolyn. Together, they traveled across the United States for his work before eventually making their home in Tuscola, Illinois. Robert and Carolyn shared a deep and enduring love until her passing in 1995.

A man of remarkable talent and dedication, Robert spent over 50 years as a welder. His craftsmanship and work ethic were widely respected, and in the later years of his career, he shared his extensive knowledge as a welding inspector, mentoring and guiding others in the trade he loved.

On November 14, 1998, Robert married Libby Morrow, with whom he shared 20 years of marriage. The two enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and creating memories together.

Though skilled with his hands, Robert was also a man of quiet contemplation and creativity. A poet at heart, he always kept a small notebook in his pocket, ready to capture the verses and reflections that came to him. He found deep peace in the outdoors—whether he was fishing, tending to his yard, or simply sitting on his front porch. His happiest moments were spent surrounded by family and friends. In his last few months, he found great comfort and companionship spending time with his caregiver, Carolyn, who became his dear friend. Bob had a deep compassion for animals and loved his cat, Anne.

Robert leaves behind a legacy of hard work, gentle strength, and heartfelt creativity. Bob was a member of the Pipeliner’s Union Local #798, Tulsa, OK, Tuscola Moose Lodge, and a 60-year member of the Tuscola Masonic Lodge #332, AF & AM and the Illini Shrine Club.

He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Larry) Ring and Pat Morrow; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one niece, Debbie Jones (Tony), along with several great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives: Carolyn and Libby, his brother: Richard Morrow and his wife: Von, one nephew; and one niece.

Services celebrating Bob’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2026 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Rev. Joseph Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
